I have been checking around for a couple weeks, and I thought I had finally settled on a 34" monitor for $899, but now these 50" OLED monitorss popped up for $879-$899 and the deals look too good to be true, so I wanted to know what I'm missing before I make a mistake.

I know they aren't 4K, but I'm not really looking for 4K so that's fine. And they are 144Hz which is fine with me too because I only play RPGs and realistically, I'm not going to see much more than that anyway, even with the 5070 TI. The GPU guide on this website doesn't show the 5070 TI hitting much over 100 FPS for most things.

It also looks like these are both AMD monitors so I'm not even sure they will work well with an Nvidia GPU.

I was originally set on this monitor, which was $899 until Amazon Prime Day sales started showing up.

I have never had an OLED monitor before, so I want to make sure the sales aren't too good to be true.

Freesync is generally compatible with Nvidia these days, and on anything with HDMI 2.1 you are good to go with G-Sync Compatible over HDMI on an FreeSync Premium monitor or better.

My OLED isn't a G-Sync panel and it works well with my 3080 Ti.

These are all QD-OLED so they should have such capabilities. Did you have any specific questions there?

Keep in mind that all of these have the same vertical height/size. The 49" are just wider. Those two 49" are very likely to have the exact same panel inside, which explains the price similarity.

5120x1440 is dual 1440p or 7.3 million pixels. 4K is 8.3 million pixels. The benchmarks you look at should be the 4K ones to get a rough guide on performance. 1440p benchmarks you generally see will be 2560x1440p.

3440x1440 is 5 million pixels, so 5/8s that of 4K.

144hz is a decent refresh rate for RPGs certainly. Though the 240hz of the smaller screen is a tad more future proof.

As for legitimate sales, at some point the people willing to pay that much for a monitor are going to dry up. And the newer monitors they are launching will start to supplant them.

If these meet what you want, and the price is right, pick it up and don't look at what gets released the next few years.

This should be close enough for the Samsung:

This should be close enough for the Alienware.

No reviews for the Gigabyte, but again, very likely to carry the next version of the panel that the Samsung uses/used.

I purchased the Alienware 165HZ DWF model, it's currently selling for $650. It's fantastic, the HDR is jaw dropping. No regrets at all.

Previously had an Asus ROG Swift 27" IPS. I was unsure about going with the ultra-wide but it's perfect for gaming. Increases the immersion factor.

What ever OLED you end up with, you are gonna love it. I never knew some games had such amazing HDR effects. Assassin Creed Shadows looks phenomenal on the OLED.

I am having issues with the monitor, or the game. In Oblivion Remaster I get an explosion of orange during the daytime where it looks so odd. When it gets dark, I have dark crush issues.

I can't post pictures because it doesn't show up right unless you're physically looking at the monitor.

I don't know if it's the game or the monitor, or if there are settings in either that can be changed to fix it. I have already updated the firmware on the monitor.

I am using the DP cable that came with the monitor.
