I am interested in buying this Amazon Basics Soundbar:

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0BLNKY3NR...6TBRV0FA&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

The product specs on amazon page says that it comes with charging cable as it has internal battery.
However the specs are silent on the charger rating. It will require USB charger with type C cable. Cable is included in the box.

Some QnA on amazon says not to use fast charger as it can damage the battery. This is said by some users, not the vendor at all.
I tried to contact amazon customer care but they were not definitive in their response.

Is there any truth that fast charging charger will damage the battery?

Thanks.

From the link:

Sold by Appario Retail Private Ltd and Fulfilled by Amazon."

Do you expect to need to do fast charging? That may or may not be an important requirement.
In any case, the product descriptions should be fully informative about the actual use of the product and product options such as charging: connectivity, voltages, times, and risks.

Specs etc. may have been lost in some quickie copy and paste for the ad. Or one of those situations where "what is not being said" should be looked into more. And you have raised the questions that need to be asked.

Key is to learn more about USB, USB-C, voltages, and charging in general.

The following link is one of serveral links that I found that helps explain things.

https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/charging-via-usb-c/

Read the link and then do your own additional searches filtered to address more specific questions or details.

Improper charging can and does cause problems.

And, personally, I tend to be wary of any products that do not provide full and what should be obvious specs.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Thank you for your reply. Basically I do not need the battery at all, as the product will have indoor use and I can always keep it connected to mains and switch it on when needed. But due to a non-removable (looks like) battery in the unit this query comes to my mind.

So far I found all Amazon basics products good or at par with big brands. But it's my common observation that many a times Amazon site omits very important specs or they are simply never thought of!!
