PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD/ATI

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe CROSSFIRE: probably

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Upgrading my computer from: AMD Athlon 63 x2 3800+ , Asus A8n5x mobo, 2GB DDR, Nvidia 7900 GT 512 mb ( 1x IDE HDD, 1x SATA HDD, 2x 120m case fans, 2 DVD+-R/W drives, 22" wide monitor )

After checking site n forums I picked the folowing:
CPU: AMD PII x3 720 BE ( local price 590.00 ~ 190$ )
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P ( local price 400.00 ~ 130$ )
GPU: Saphire Radeon HD 4770 512 mb ( local price 400.00 ~ 130$ )
RAM: 4GB DDR2 1066 2x 2GB Kit Mushkin 5-5-5-15 ( local price 300.00 ~ 97$ )

I picked that GPU cuz of the price vs performance it offers ... i also plan on going crossfire with it eventualy

I picked that CPU cuz from what i saw in bechmarks in gaming the difference in fps is minimal vs PII x4 940 ( which would cost me 830.00 ~ 265$ ) so for 75$ less i loose 2-3 fps ( counting in games with low fps ... in games with more then 50 fps i dont care either way )

My question is should i shell out more for a better cpu?
Considering current trends for games will this setup be enough to last me 2ish years ?
And yes i realize i am under budget with my picks but i rather not use it all for computer upgrade ( i dont have a job and get ~260$ per month out of which i put aside 130 each month for the past 5 months to get the upgrade )

The reason for the upgrade is ( Hell, its about time ) I wanted to play crysis and have a good gameplay expirience ... curently i get 12-15 fps in it on 16x12 with medium to low graphic settings

I think it's a good build you're going into. I would revise the Gigabyte board because it does CF only with 8x on each lane, if you want a better performance (IF YOU CROSSFIRE), go with a FX chipset (even if it's going to cost you a bit more, GA-MA790FXT-UD5P for instance 666.00 Lei from Damfis)
The video card itself is a very good choice, and later you can pick up another one when it's going to be cheaper...

finally broke down yesterday and decided to go for a more expensive card and got sapphire 4890 instead ...

found a very good site too with cheap prices ... http://www.pcgarage.ro/ its a newegg.com copy cat :p prices are ~20$ more expensive on most items ... which is understandable imo
