Advice on Gaming/Workstation PC Build, 1st Time.

Budget Range : $800-$1000


System Usage from Most to Least Important : Adobe Photoshop ,Autodesk 3D Applications, Adobe After Effects, Gaming, Other Adobe Programs.

Parts Not Required : Mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers. I am iffy on the computer case cause I have an empty one but it's a Mid Tower.

Overclocking : Maybe

Sli or Crossfire: Maybe, sticking with one graphics card for now.

Additional Comments : Here's a brief info about me, I am a college student majoring in Fine Arts and hopefully to work in a job field consisting of Concept Artists ( Digitally Paiting etc), 3D Animator, VFX Artist. My knowledge of computers hasn't been updated for a long time and I am seeking advice from the community here and be pointed to the right direction haha.

There's a SSD in there, so is that where people install their OS on or what so?

There's a lot of great deals on Memory Ram so far, though this bundle only has 8gb of Ram, I would prefer 12gb or more, but I can always add more in the future.

I would go a different route and chose selectively on the parts instead of the combo deal, but got confused on which motherboard to choose. Lol.

Ah ok, what I want was able to play great games and able to do work well like 3D Autodesk and Zbrush?

That is a nice little package there , the only thing I would question is why would they put that Cyberlink software in there instead of an Operating System. Then when you add the video card now you would have a complete system build. Yes you would install your OS on the SSD. You would also have to be careful adding memory , when it is triple channely you want to add the same type, speed, timings and size.

Windows 7 support different cards. You can add something like Radeon 6950 now, this should give you no problem working with applications, but of course, huge projects might be slower.
In the future, you will get a workstation grade card off ebay, like FirePro V5800 or V7800 or something similar. Crossfire has pretty much no effect in 3D applications, unless you want to work on like 4 monitors.
Windows 7 will support both cards installed on your system. They will not work together like crossfire, but rather: 1 card for one monitor, one for another (You can absolutely ignore one card, while working on applications).

Wait for Bulldozer: 8 core processor will go for a very similar price to i7 2600k. That will be an increadible boost in rendering.
