My monitor has HDMI 1.4 (2.0 is needed for 120hz on Xbox). It supports up to 144hz, though. I read that you can still get 120hz with an hdmi to dvi adapter.

I got an adapter that supports hdmi 2.0 but If I select DVI output in the Xbox setting I don't get an option for 120hz. However, if I select HDMI I still get the same image but also an option of 120 hz. However, when I choose 120hz the colors get messed up.

What, I'm wondering is if it's possible the cables that come with X1X aren't true HDMI 2.0. If I should get a different 2.0 HDMI cable or if I should get this cable that someone confirmed supports 120hz through DVI.

This is the weird thing. If I try to run 120hz through hdmi i get no signal. But using a dvi adapter, if I choose hdmi and 120hz I get an image that I can actually play with but it's just that the colors are off.

As for displayport adapter, the only one I could find is like a $150. At that point I can just buy an hdmi 2.0 monitor.

As for buying a new monitor. I'm planning on it but I'm waiting on hdmi 2.1 monitors.
