Hello,
I've got the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe and am waiting for the q9550 to come out. I'm not overly concerned with pushing the CPU to its limits but I would like to clock the memory at 1600 MHz. So I've been messing around with the settings and To get the memory up to 1600 from 1333 I'll have to adjust the FSB speed to 400. I'm concerned about the potential for damage or instability in doing this. I have read a bunch of threads and there is information all over about pushing the FSB up past 450 but really, I just want to go to 400. If there is anyone with experience in working with these types of things I would appreciate some advice. Should the core 2 quad processors handle this level of FSB without failure?
I thought about running the memory at 1333 with lower latency values but... I figure I might as well try it out at 1600.
Cheers,
EWood
