Hello,

Currently running HP x34 UWQHD 1440p 165hz IPS. been looking at this acer nitro EDA343CUR Xbmiippx 34" monitor for months and haven't managed to find any detailed reviews on the 240hz model.
Would prefer to stay in the 34inch range or higher and IPS or VA preferred. 3440x1440p is my current resolution and would prefer to stay or upgrade to a higher if available. OLED is not something I'm currently interested in as it's way out of my budget. 400-800 USB is about my limit. also prefer amazon and bestbuy for options but open to other suggestions. Thanks!

I mostly play FPS games and at low settings to get the best performance. I run a RTX 3080 ti 12gb , i9 14900k, 32gb DDR5 6000MHz.

Clearly restate your requirements:

How is your current monitor deficient with respect to games and other applications?

= = = =

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

List all attached peripherals.

Have you considered using a television as a monitor replacement ?
I used a 1440p UltraWide for several years and while I became used to it for gaming and even used an mpv player script to automatically crop movies, I began to miss the vertical real-estate of the traditional 16:9 wide screen.

The latter part of last year, I picked up a 48" LG B4 OLED for $600 and it's a night and day difference. I love it for both games and movies. The motion and input lag is perfect and the contrast.. Well, did I mention it was an OLED ?

It can be a little weird while working in an image manipulator or ..typing on forums, since its brightness tends to dim after a few minutes if the screen isn't changing often, due to using an aggressive Panel Care setting, but I'm totally okay with that, in the name preservation.

I did do quite a bit of research before pulling the trigger on it, because that's what I do, even when I'm not aiming to buy stuff and I chose the B4 due to it maintaining its brightness, compared to the C4, when in HDR mode, while using the Game Optimizer preset. The B4 doesn't cost as much as the C4 also, so there's that.

The only negative thing about the B4, for me, is that it isn't available in a smaller size.

Other Thoughts:
How to Enable God Mode on Windows 11?
  1. Right-click on Desktop and go to New -> Folder.
  2. In the Folder name, enter the following String GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
  3. Click Enter.
  4. You can now find the Icon of the Folder has changed because God Mode is now Enabled.
The option to "Turn screen saver on or off" is in there.

Which model did you get, Garrett ?
The older DW model that has the G-Sync chip. They sell now for $699 as they are clearing out the inventory.

Got an open box from Amazon for $550.

Going from a 27" Asus ROSG Swift IPS to this 34" OLED has been one of the greatest gaming improvements I've made. It's was somewhat similar when changing from the 22"-24" 1080P PNP to 27" 1440P IPS/VA.

The HDR effects are absolutely fantastic on the Alienware. I had no idea games could look so good.

Currently playing AC Shadows. One of the most visually stunning games I've ever seen. Cyberpunk looks great too but Shadow's can be breath taking at times.

Can you tell I like it 😛
