Solution
I wouldn't bother with the 250GB MX500 for $50, when you can get the 500GB version with double the capacity for just $18 more than that, with a cost-per-GB that's only slightly higher than that Kingston drive. If you plan on installing modern games to the SSD, then you'll likely want at least around 500GB of storage anyway...

Also, I would skip the expensive all-in-one cooler. The i5-8400 is not overclockable, and its included cooler should likely be sufficient. If you want something that's quieter and more capable for potential future upgrades than the stock cooler, even a lower-priced tower cooler in the $30-$40 range would be...
Very nice, both added. Is the motherboard decent quality do you know? Just saw the review scores. Also are there any specialty tools/ parts I am not considering? (i.e, motherboard spacers etc. ) First time build and I am not sure what manufacturers include. Thanks for the help!

If you want something that's quieter and more capable for potential future upgrades than the stock cooler, even a lower-priced tower cooler in the $30-$40 range would be far more than enough for that processor. Something like one of the Hyper 212s, or a Freezer 33 eSports ONE might be a good option, for example, and the money saved could be put toward a better, higher capacity SSD...

Makes sense. I was particularly concerned about everything fitting properly with an aftermarket CPU cooler. That one looks solid though. How can you make sure it wont interfere with anything else? Also, any thoughts on the motherboard/ I was also looking into :

Have you signed up for newegg newsletters? You get them pretty much daily, with promo codes and such. I look at them daily. Here's some target pricing within the last 2 months:

2x8GB DDR4-3000 = $85
RX580 8GB = $165-$180
Corsair CX650M = $40-$45
Crucial MX500 500GB = $52

Hope that helps.
