My old PC died in a house fire. I wanted to future-proof the new one as much as possible.

Budget: 2,600 (this does not include the monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Although I will need to buy that.)
Location: Las Vegas
Uses: PC Gaming

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wfNw7R

Time frame to build next 6 months.

PS: avoid house fires dealing with insurance is a pain in the butt.

So basically a no to my entire list. Since I am a novice I love to learn! Why? Is there too much power in some areas and not enough in others? Is the budget not being spent efficiently for what I need?

Here is my list in case the link wasn't working.

Best to start these threads about a week or less before purchasing seeing how the prices on components change on an almost daily basis. Keep your eyes peeled for the reviews of the RTX 4080 Ti Super 20GB due for release this January.

If I was doing a build today with your budget it would look something like this (insert whatever gpu hits the sweet spot).

Makes sense. I like to build over time, with parts like case and power supply being bought first, then motherboard, CPU, RAM, cooler, and storage being bought all at once. Sometimes holding off on RAM until GPU arrives. Allows me to manage the budget better. Also, allow to watch price on individual parts.

Just purchased my first part (the case) on you all recommendations. Next will be the power supply.

What is your thinking about your chosen power supply over a cheaper option like Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 - TT Premium Edition 1050 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply?

I haven't looked at a Thermaltake psu since they had the fire issues and lied about it.

The tt gf3 are good. If the price is right, go for it.

As you why 7800x3d? It is the current gaming cpu king and runs Cooler while using less power. B650 would support next gen cpu upgrades.

The z790 is end of life. Won't support 15th gen and does not support pcie 5.0
