Advice on New Build

Hello Everyone

I am looking to build another computer since my last build was about 7 years ago (I typically build new systems every 5-7 years). As there have been a lot of advancement since then and I have received good advice from everyone in the past, I would like to get some advice on this build. I will primarily be gaming with some video editing.

A few specific areas I would like advice but all components are free game:
1. Motherboard: I chose the Asus Prime 270-A. Anything better at this price point?

2. RAM: Chose the Corsair based on CAS being 10 although it is DDR4-2400. Should I got DDR4-3XXX and a higher CAS for better speed?

3. Monitor: Would like to go with 2 monitors but I would also like to go 1440 with 144mHz. Any Monitors at a lower price point that is worth this or should I wait to buy another later (say 1080p to desktop and 1440 for gaming)?

4. Mouse and speakers: Just chose those while trying not to break the bank.. Will swap out if the overall price does not go up.

That's a great build, however with AMD Ryzen on sale next month I don't think the i7s will stay at that price. It'll probably go down to about $250. Oh, GTX 1080 Ti is also coming. I know, it's a bad time to build a PC, hehe.

I am doing my research now.. I can wait 4-6 weeks. If the i7 price drop and the 1080 Ti changes keeps the build under $3000, I can swing it.

Buy it and build it I dont like the cheap3 TB drive the prices are low for a reason, I would also save on the PSU and get the G model.
For Zen next month will be the 2nd time they delay the release and after all the Hype of their last 2 releases I expect anouther flop when compaired to Intel.

You don't get Seasonic G if you want to save on the PSU. Get an EVGA Supernova G3 650W.

There will always be new tech to wait for. Now it's the 1080Ti and Ryzen, then it's gonna be something else. RX490, Intel Extreme processors, X299.. There's always waiting. I suggest waiting right now only because Ryzen is most likely gonna bring prices down. You'll probably not buy Ryzen, Intel will probably still beat them and you don't need the 8C16T for gaming, because it has lower clocks. Since we're talking about waiting there will also be new monitors coming out. With HDR.

If you are video editing it might be better to get higher speed RAM, it will help. If you're mostly gaming it will not add to your FPS.

There is a newer version of that cooler, NH-D15.

You never felt how bad it was. I bought an HD 7850 (don't know how many people know about it) the month before GTX 660 came. Oh dear, GTX 660 was cheaper and faster, I could've waited. What a stupid decision that was. The gap was a staggering 2 or 3 weeks. Painful.

Some even paid $1000 for Titan Xs right before R9 290X came out! I can't possibly imagine how that guy felt.

Yes you do you see he has the very expensive Seasonic Prime listed.
The seasonic G series will let him stick with Seasonic as I would.

I read the NH-D14 is better than the new version, if that is not accurate, I would go with the new version.

You could also use a Samsung EVO 960 instead, it gets installed directly in the mainboard and will speed up your system significantly. You can install it in this mainboard, I will use the same one in my new PC.
