Hi,

I'm helping a friend build a new PC. Its primary function would be music production and casual gaming. Ive picked the following specs, based on a budget of approx £1500 via PC part picker. I'm seeking advise to see if these will be suitable.

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor

CPU cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 3 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler

MoBo: Asus TUF Z390M-PRO GAMING (WI-FI) (Although we are considering the ASUS ROG Maximus XI GENE)

RAM: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (1 x 16 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

SSD:Samsung - 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive

GPU: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3 GB GAMING Video Card

Case: Fractal Design - Meshify C Mini Dark TG MicroATX Mini Tower Case

OS: Windows 10 pro

and an additional Corsair AF140 fan for the intake.

The only area of doubt is whether the ASUS TUF board is ok or whether we should upgrade to the MAXIMUS XI

Cheers!

Change the memory to 2x8gb, the system will perform better in dual channel. Also you don't need Win10 Pro, the Home version is fine but tbh I'd change quite a bit around for a more balanced system. Your also missing the most important part of the system, the PSU.

Thanks for getting back so quickly! I had picked a PSU but stupidly didn't put it on the list!

I agree on the Windows 10 side of things, however, as for the other components, what is it that makes them unbalanced?
