Would greatly appreciate any help with the following:

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: N/A
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: UK

PARTS PREFERENCES: N/A

OVERCLOCKING: No
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050 and 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

I inherited the GT 240 after a friend upgraded, however its incredibly noisy, and i'm not sure that it will be able to support the new 1920x1080 monitor when i add this to my existing 1680x1050 later this week.

The new GPU needs to support two DVI-D connections for the monitors and be as quiet as possible. I would be interested in hearing whether passive cooling is a good idea, or good value.

Thanks in advance.

Passive cooling solutions aren't good if you plan on playing games.

I'd recommend something like the 560 ti, it's one of the quietest under load out there.

The bottom of the page there has a nice chart that'll show you the DBA under Idle and under Load. Use this, along with other benchmarks of the GPU's performance to get a good idea of what's best for you and for your budget.
