I have a ryzen 5 3600, 2070 super, and 16 gb ram rn. Was going to microcenter tmrw and wondering if I should get the mb/cpu bundles with a ryzen 7 9700x and ram, or upgrade my gpu instead. What do you guys think?

Can you list full system specs including PSU model and age? Include ram speed, cooler and motherboard model.

Do you have a budget to work to?

What do you use the computer for?

What resolution you working with?

I believe 750 watt psu 80+ gold
16 gb 3600mhz ram
X570 msi gaming carbon pro
Cooler is a 3 fan be quiet AIO

Budget is around 500$

1080p and I mostly play Rust and some factorio

As others have suggested the 5700x3d is probably the best choice. It will offer a significant boost over your 3600 especially in Factorio which is particularly memory bandwidth sensitive and helped out greatly by the 3d Vcache.

You possibly will require a BIOS update on your board depending on when you last updated it. Check the releases for your board to confirm which one is the minimum you require.

You could possibly pick up a 32gb ddr4 kit as well for quite cheap. Ideally 3600 c16 or lower. See what deals they have at Microcentre.
