Currently running:
i5-2500K
GTX 960
Asus P8P67 Pro mobo
RAM is a mixed batch: x2 sticks of 4gb PC3-12800 & x2 sticks of 4gb PC3-10700 in alternating slots.

I ran UserBenchMark and it noted(obviously) that the GTX 960 is a problem.
I'm thinking an upgrade to RTX 2060 would be tremendous but prices are steep, especially in Canada. That's a $500 card here right now(I'm rounding up)

I wonder if I should change out the RAM. Should I get a kit of 2x8gb ram DDR3-1600 as shown below? Would a clean matched set be better?

Can I use faster RAM? I looked it up but am not sure how to read it. Here's what it says on ASUS site for my mobo:
"DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 Hz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory "

I know the video card upgrade would make a difference but is the RTX 2060 the right fit for the other components?

So what do you all think?

Older PSU that isn't great, so personally I wouldn't pair it for very long with a newer GPU. When you are asking is it the right fit, what exactly do you mean?

It will ultimately give you a big improvement. The RAM will probably be a negligible improvement.
Your minimum FPS would likely get the best boost on your existing rig from jumping to an 8 thread CPU...(not sure what prices are on folks trading off their 2600K CPUs these days)
At any rate, the GTX960 will limit your to 1080P medium details in most games these days anyway...

I was more wondering if I should go with something else instead of the RTX 2060 because of the limitations of my other components. Would I be better of doing "this, this, & this" instead if you have suggestions.

I wasn't looking to upgrade the chip at this time unfortunately.

More looking at the GPU, RAM(if it's even worth it to change this).

seeing if I can squeeze just a little more life out of this poor old ah heck of a PC.
