Hey everyone,

I've decided to buy a gaming laptop as my old AM3 desktop is finally, after 6 years, breaking down and with space now an issue a laptop I feel is better suited. My budget is £1000 and I have a few ideas of what laptop I want but a few recommendations won't hurt and would be appreciated. I have my eye on an Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (AMD Ryzen 5-4600HS, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650Ti, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Windows 10). I admit my knowledge of laptops is poor and I would like a reliable but high performance rig that can run most games at 60fps.

Kind Regards

To get to 60 FPS on that system you might need to play many games on mid to low settings.

The Acer Aspire 7 (A715-42G) has a better CPU and it cost less than Asus ROG Zephyrus G14.
Also, the Acer Predator Triton 300 (PT315-52) has a better GPU (NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti), better CPU for gaming and it costs around £900

Hey, thanks for the suggestions so far as they look like great laptops. I really don't need ultra settings anyway, mid - high, if I'm lucky, at 60 fps is ideal.

If you want high settings at 1080p and 60 FPS, the absolute minimum I would recommend is a GTX 1660 Ti. It's basically a GTX 1070 performance-wise and can handle most current and hardware-intensive games without ray tracing at those settings. Anything below that card and you have to be willing to compromise on framerate, resolution, or graphical quality.

Hey guys, thanks for all the advice as it is appreciated. I finally got myself an ACER Predator Helios 300 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel® Core™ i7, RTX 3060, 1 TB SSD for £1200. A little over my budget but, as stated above, the better the GPU the longer the lifespan plus I got a sweet cooling pad so I'm set. Thanks for all advice once more.

Kind Regards
