[SOLVED] Advice on Self Build Spec Please

Hi Guys,

I am doing my first self build in a very long time and was told by a friend this was a good forum to join. Could you cast an eye over the spec, I would be greatful of any advice. I have left off a graphic card and will use the onboard one until I can afford a decent one.


Motherboard: GIGABYTE X570 GAMING X - £141
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - £180
Storage: Sabrent 512gb m.2- £70 (I also have a NAS for additonal slow storage)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb - £60
Power Supply: Corsair VS450 450W - £35

There is no onboard GPU in the Ryzen 3600, only in models with G at the end such as the Ryzen 3400G.
I would get a better power supply if you want to use a gaming graphics card at any point.

Ah ok. Thank you. I was looking at the VS650 as well. I will get that instead.

Don't. The VS from 2017 is a TIER C PSU which means
"Tier C - Recommended for entry level desktops, low profile HTPCs, Office desktops, preferably GPUs with no external PCI-e power connection."

If it's a 2012 VS version it's in the Tier E.
"Tier E - Dangerous in multiple scenarios"

Ah thank you. I can see psu's are more complicated than I thought. Maybe a Corsair RM550x then.
