Computer died, think it's either mobile or CPU as all HDDs seem ok. Was time for an upgrade anyway so will take the plunge! Blimey.. things have changed, especially motherboards.

Mainly a gaming rig. I don't tend to over clock much, but like to have extra umph. Thinking of:

i5 7600k
Asus Strix z270E (want wi-fi and Bluetooth and I've always liked Asus
GTX 1050 ti .. although not sure yet, just gotta keep cost down a little!
RAM: Thinking Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000? Don't know which clock speed would be best though with that chip and mobo

Power: will existing Corsair HX620 modular be ok?
Case: Existing Fractal Design - two top fans, 2 front, 1 side, 1 rear
Sound: existing.. can't remember what it is, a decent Creative

Already have a good SSD and several SATA drives. So no worries there.

Think that's it.

Any thoughts really appreciated. Been reading lots of reviews and comments, but think they end up just making me change my mind.

Solution
That would work fine but you'll need a aftermarket CPU cooler as the K series no longer provides a cooler. Something like the Cryorig H7 would work good.
I would go with a R5 1600, B350 motherboard & 2x8gb 2666+mhz DDR4 RAM. I know you said no overclocking however the 1600 should overclock fairly easy to 3.8ghz on the AMD Wraith cooler (stock) and run new games really well, plus this route should be a bit cheaper. Your PSU, Case & sound card should work fine however I would try to make sure the PSU didn't cause your system to die in the first place.

Interesting, hadn't really considered AMD. Used to be a fan, but have stuck with Intel last 10yrs or so. CPU price difference isn't much, but lots of saving on the mb. Something for me to think about.

Would it work if I kept some of existing parts for a while? Thinking:

i5 7600k
Asus Strix z270E (want wi-fi and Bluetooth and I've always liked Asus)
Intel stock cooler
GTX 750ti .. old part, will upgrade to 1050/60 asap
RAM: old DDR3 1600 8gb, will get DDR4 3000 asap

Power: existing Corsair HX620 modular
Case: Existing Fractal Design - two top fans, 2 front, 1 side, 1 rear
Sound: existing.. can't remember what it is, a decent Creative

The power concerns me so will prolly upgrade with the gfx.

Thanks
