Ok so i have a set of Astro A10's as of now but i have had a few different brands through the years, my question is can i just buy an external dac and get excellent sound or do i need to invest in something higher end? I play games mostly but i really enjoy music as well, im just wanting clearer audio. right now im just using onboard audio btw. Thanks in advance! Edit: im not wanting the best of the best but something obtainable for joe average her like 100 to $150 max on budget, my old headset will most likely go to my wife for her gaming/music as well. BTW i have a gigabyte aorus pro elite Z390 MB

Just get a decent set of gaming headphones. Corsair do a few good ones around 150 (virtuoso), the arctis 7 from steelseries is 120-150, the 9x is 150-180. All should outstrip your a10s by a county mile.
