Are you buying a monitor:
Not right now but maybe a QHD next year

Parts to Upgrade:
CPU plus mobo (assume required for new CPU) plus other parts as required

Do you need to buy OS:
Current Windows appears to be RETAIL channel so presumably not

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
No preference

Location:
United Kingdom

Parts Preferences:
No particular preference

Overclocking:
Probably not

SLI or Crossfire:
Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution:
1920x1080 at present, likely to upgrade next year to at least QHD

Additional Comments:
Current system:
Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H motherboard
i5-3750K 3.4GHz
2x Crucial 4GB DDR3L-1600 UDIMM
2x Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance Low Profile 4GB DDR3 1600MHz
Radeon RX580
Antec TruePower 550W modular PSU
Gelid Tranquillo cooler
Main system drive is Crucial 256G SSD plus 3 additional SATA drives of various makes and sizes

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
Build is over 8 years old and the CPU is one of the few parts I’ve not upgraded and would like to upgrade to give me a solid machine for the next few years. Also noticed problems with textures not rendering in AC Origins which seems likely due to CPU bottlenecking.
Have been considering the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X as a good price point but open to suggestions!

Solution
You would need a new cpu, motherboard, ram and probably psu (while your psu is super solid, and a very good unit, after 8 years it's probably showing it's age.)

Thanks, suspected as much. Currently looking at buying the MSI X570-A-PRO as a motherboard which fits within my budget (memory tbd) - any feedback welcome.
