Question Advice on Upgrading Graphics Card for Starfield

Feb 9, 2007
The Minimum Requirements for GPU for Starfield is RX5700. I have an RX580 so it's below the minimum requirements. I have been looking at my components in the system I built near the end of 2018. I have a Asus Prime X470-Pro MB. It supports PCIe 3.0 not 4.0.
After looking at newer AMD cards and also thinking it might be best to go up from 8 to 12 GB of VRAM on a card, I'm looking at a AMD Radeon RX6700XT with 12 GB VRAM. Since this card supports PCIe 4.0 which my MB only supports 3.0, will I loose much performance? Any advice would be appreciated as to this along with other video cards that might be recommended.

First of all I'd expect the system requirements to change a bit between now and then so making a buying decision based on it now isn't great.

Second nothing but the highest performance cards will have any notable performance difference between PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 (talking 3080ti/6900XT+) so long as you're getting a card which uses 16 lanes (6700+ are 16).
