Hi,
I need some advice on purchasing a graphics card. I have't bought a GPU in a very long time and i would like some advice please.
I have a budget of around £250 to buy a new GPU.

Here is my current setup. I know its old but the machine is working well for me:
  • Intel i7 3.5Ghz Quad Core Ivy Bridge
  • ASUS P8Z77-VLX Motherboard
  • 8GB RAM
  • HD Radeon 1GB ( Had a Sapphire HD 7750 2 GB before but that died on me).
  • Antec 302 case
  • 600W OCZ ZS Series 80 PLUS Bronze.
Current monitor resolution is 1080p.

I'd like get back into PC gaming to play games with my friends on Call of Duty Warzone, Monster Hunter etc.
I understand i will have to upgrade the RAM (correct me if i'm wrong).

I've looked at couple of Nvidia based cards such as Gigabyte Geforce GTX 6GB 1660 OC and Zotac 6GB Geforce GTX 1660.
Alternatively i looked at RX 580. I see that's cheaper than the above.

Here are my questions:
  1. What are your opinion on these?
  2. Are the GPU mentioned above overkill for my needs?
  3. Are there any suitable alternatives then the one's I've mentioned above?
  4. Would it make sense to wait for when new GPU's are released and then buy afterwards?
