So I recently came into possession of a first generation Core 2 Duo system. I intend to use it as a Lan gaming rig
So before I get into the details of my question, here are the setups
Core 2 Duo E6700 ( I Think) 2.66 Ghz
Asus P5K Deluxe Motherboard
4 GB 1066 (I believe) Kingston RAM
535 W Enermax Whisper 2 PSU (it is Crossfire Certified)
Currently the C2D system is unoperable as I don't have its hard drive atm.
The friend who gave me the system is offering a Sapphire HD7750 as well (can get it for under $100)
Goals: Be able to play Borderlands 2, Battlefield 3 and Shogun 2 Total War (most graphically demanding games I have) (note that I'd like Shogun 2/Napoleon 2 on decent graphics, don't care so much for the two FPS's), under 150 CAD
Personally I'd really like to utilize the crossfire capability present on the motherboard (I know its only x16/x4, but I've always wanted to do it and the opportunity has proverbially fallen into my lap)
The issue though is what to do about the High end rig. I'm toying with the idea of picking up an HD7750 or HD7770 to xfire with the 7750
Another option I'm considering is buying a single Radeon 260X and putting it in the system
One other thing I should mention is that I'm considering buying a CM HAF XB (the desktop case from the series) for the new system as it is in a very old antec case at the moment (so this will effect my budget, which is ultimately around 200, accounting for case and all, its just all I'm willing to spend on graphics is 150 MAX)
Thoughts on my best bet for this?
