Hey guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my PC a bit and was hoping someone would look this over and offer any advice before I take the plunge on these new parts.
I've been slowly upgrading where I can and I currently have all of the parts except the mobo, case and cpu. Currently, I have a prebuilt that has a real basic mobo ( it's an Asus G11CD ) which is holding me back from further upgrades. It has a i7-6700 non K processor in it at the moment.

The idea is I wanted to upgrade the mobo, and while I was at it, might as well upgrade the cpu to future proof a bit. I also want to get all of it out of the stock case, which has terrible thermals now that I'm adding components, as well as a lack of any real room.

The below link is the PC part picker I've put together. Again, I have everything except for the cpu, case, and mobo, I've just added in the other stuff I'm currently running for reference.

Also, I'm guessing I'm going to need to re-buy windows 10, as I had upgraded to 10 from 7 which came pre-installed on this pre-built correct?

Thanks in advance for the help/advice

If you attach your current install of windows, to your microsoft account, you shouldn't have to buy a new license, and should be able to transfer to new hardware.

.

I would save some cash, and get this cooler. https://www.amazon.com/Vetroo-Cooler-Processor-Universal-Socket/dp/B08F2BS9J8

Oh interesting, good to know I should be able to move Windows over, that'll save me some money.

Thanks for the input!
