[SOLVED] Advice on which to go for pre built desktop

Hello all

I'm looking to buy one of 4 desktops and having a tough time deciding which would be best. It will be mainly used for gaming maybe some streaming/YouTube vid uploads at later date.

I'm not sure which one is the best offer and will last the longest I know Intel tends to make it so you can't just upgrade cpu so is ryzen best or is that changing too?

im leaning towards the amd currently as everywhere ive read so far says that intel is not really offering much more performance for the money and amd is more future proof is this correct?

Electro I think the amd does add slot of value with the cooler that comes with it but intel still outperforms amd.
For example the ryzen5 2600 is a popular chose but it is outperformed by something like the 8400

Well, for raw performance the 9900k and 2080ti combo is the most powerful. Although intel doesn't change sockets often, based on past Intel practices, if you were to want to put a next gen Intel CPU you would need a new mobo and new chipset. The 2700x is a bit weaker today, but 9900k crushing CPUs are coming to that platform. To put in a new CPU better than the 9900k later down in the road would only require a bios update. And demoed a yet to be released ryzen CPU beating the 9900k. It will be on am4, so you could just install the CPU with a new bios. If you don't wanna upgrade go for the 9900k. If you want to upgrade go for the 2700x so you can get better performance than what the 9900k platform offers.

£400 more - and not £400 worth of performance more. Simply isn't worth unless you got money to burn.

Personally, if you are fine spending more, I would go with the first system, the 9900k is significantly faster than the 2700x, and would allow the system to use the 2080ti more, as the performance of the CPU is better, but if you are looking to save 300£, the ryzen system would be fine, you just might not get as much performance out of the graphics card.

I normally go Intel always found things run smoother with it and seem to be geared towards it. But with amd soon to release new chips it does make me think why not get amd and just sell the cpu when the new chips appear as much cheaper than upgrading both cpu and mobo.

AMD has much improved from the old fx CPUs. New AMD CPUs will deliver similar smoothness io intel. The 2700x may limit the 2080ti in 1080p, just like any cpu including the 9900k, but in 1440p and above your GPU will be limit. I would go amd to get better future performance. AMD ceo has said cpus with more then 8 cores will come to am4 with a dual 8 core ccx design. These will be better than any of the cpus coming to the other platforms.
