After returning a pair of headphones that had fell to pieces, I recently got my hands on £129. With this money I am looking to perform one of two PC upgrades to my current rig.

Option 1: Upgrade from a 1440 x 900 monitor to a 1920 x 1080 monitor
Option 2: Get an SSD

Just wondering which would be the best for the budget, my current pc specifications, future-proofing, etc.

Here are my current PC Specs:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z77X-D3H
Processor: Intel Core i5 3570 3.40Ghz (Turbo 3.80)
Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB
Memory: 8GB Corsair XMS3 1333Mhz (2x 4GB)
Hard Drive: 1TB Western Digital Green SATA
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W

Thanks,

well... upgrading to 1080p would actually reduce the lifespan of your pc without upgrading your gpu.

you can run on higher settings on 1440x900 than 1920x1080. its a decent upgrade if your current panel just isnt cutting it but just realize that its also more demanding.

a ssd isnt required however green drives are slow so it will be a huge upgrade in terms of speed. it will feel like a brand new computer.
