I've always gamed on a 1080p 60Hz display, which has been good. But for my new build, I want to take advantage of my NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti's power by upping my display resolution to 1440p @144Hz. What monitors can you recommend? I'd like to spend as little as possible.

Hi pmcg521, that’s a very good resolution and refresh rate for that graphics card!

As for getting that monitor cheaply it will be difficult. It all comes down to whether you want an RGB monitor with low response time and great colour accuracy with NVIDIA G-SYNC or if you just want 1440p@144 and no bells and whistles!

As for my recommendation, any company that is well known such as Samsung and ASUS make great monitors. I’d stay away from LG from personal experience as their displays lack clarity and are very dull to look at but that’s just me.

1 - http:// This monitor is natively at 144hz and can be overclocked to 165hz. It has great response time and good colour accuracy. It also includes G-SYNC for smoother gameplay when the FPS fluctuates.

2 - http:// This monitor by Samsung is cheaper and does not offer G-SYNC but gets the same resolution and refresh rate for much less.

Here are just two options of the many out there, have a look and let us know what you think!

Thanks for your quick reply and for the recommendations! I've researched G-SYNC and I would prefer to avoid the feature for cost reasons. That said, the Samsung monitor you linked seems like a fantastic monitor at an affordable price. But, I'm a bit hesitant about a curved screen.

I've been looking at this display as well:

Do you know a good resource for shopping for this kind of monitor? There seem to be so few out there. The samsung monitor you linked did not show up in my results when I began searching, maybe it comes down to .com vs .co.uk

No problem! And wow that monitor you linked there is at an excellent price and by a very good company!!

Apologies but I forgot to ask what country you’re from so I sent over UK websites. As for resources for looking at these monitors, I recommend both Ebuyer and Amazon as they are both very reliable and at great prices!

Brilliant choice though from that link you sent! :)
