Advice on XFire please

Hi, my current setup is an Intel I5 3570k, and an HD 7870. I have a sufficient psu to support crossfire already, I would just like an upgrade in performance while gaming but I don't have the money right now to splash out on a single GPU that will have a decent performance boost, (budget of £100).

I will be planning on buying another 7870 of the exact same model.

I would just like to know if this is a good decision, thanks

Well it will give you a performance boost if you feel you really need one. The only problem with Xfire is it has compatibility issues with some games, especially when games launch.

I already know I won't get my performance doubled, unfortunately. But how bad are the compatibility issues?

It depends on the game. Some are perfectly fine but some have issues. I don't Xfire so I don't pay that much attention to which games have problems. I know Watchdogs had an issue at launch but I'm pretty sure thats been fixed now. Usually the problem is that it only registers one card so the second card doesn't get used so it doesn't make the games unplayable, you just lose the xfire benefit.

Currently i run asus r9 280x dc2 top in cf mode and i am gaming a lot...like i play minimum 4 hours per day and i do play all kind of games from murderer, skyrim, bf4 , titanfall, to grid auto sport, fifa, mortal combat to leage of legends lineage 2 and aion. Have no issues to report back. Since the very begging of my cfx i was fine like 90% of the problems doesnt exost anymore. ..i would vote on go on with cfx.
