[SOLVED] Advice/Recommendations on Build

The parts for my build:
I5-11600k
Asus B560M Plus Wifi
G.Skill Trident RGB 2x16 3600 CL16
RTX 3070ti FE
WD SN850 2Tb SSD
RMx 850 PSU
3x NZXT AER 2 120mm
NZXT Z53 Cooler
Lian Li 205M

I have done extensive research over the last year or so to find the right parts for the build I want and was hoping for some second opinions before I order it.

I'll be using this for gaming at 1080p but eventually hoping to upgrade to 1440p playing games like Cyberpunk, Battlefield, Elden Ring and God of War. I want to be able to play at max graphical fidelity with raytracing getting at least 60fps.

Please let me know if there are any suitable or recommended changes I can make.

In the year since you started research, things have changed.
Your build will work, but I have some thoughts:

1) For gaming, I like the 3070fe. And, gpu prices are coming down.
The gpu is the engine of fast action gaming. Good pick there.

2) The 12th gen intel processors are stronger for the price.
For example, the cheaper I5-12400 has the same 12 threads, and overall performance but stronger single thread performance. Single thread performance is most important for games and overall desktop quickness.
Run cpu-Z bench test and look at the single thread performance on your current pc.

3) I do not like to use liquid cooling when a good air cooler will do.

If you mount the aio radiator in front, the cpu gets cooled best, but the hot radiator air is used to cool the motherboard vrm's and the graphics card.
This makes the critical component, the graphics card run hotter.
OTOH, if you mount the radiator on top, the cpu is not cooled as well since it uses warm case air.
The 12400 is not a hot processor and comes with a(barely) adequate cooler. No sense in spending more on an aio cooler than your cpu.
AIO coolers do not last forever. In time, air intrudes and a mechanical pump will get clogged or fail.
A Noctua NH-D15s will cool equally well and will avoid the catch 22 issues of mounting a 280 aio.
It will be half the cost,be quieter, easier to install, and...
an air cooler will never leak.

4) Lian li cases are top quality. Good selection there.
The Lian Li 205M seems to be a nice MATX case.
I think it comes with two front 120mm intakes.
I would try those fans first. if you have an air cooler.
If you want to replace them, pick two 140mm intakes which move more air quietly.
Cases are a personal thing so pick what appeals to you.
Bust your budget if need be since a case is a long term thing.

5) G.Skill Trident RGB 2x16 3600 CL16 is a good pick.
Realize that you are paying more for rgb "bling"

6) On the SSD, the wd is an ok pick. But do not be too much impressed by synthetic sequential speed benchmarks. Most of what you do will be random, and random performance differs little among all ssd devices.

A 2tb samsung 970 EVO + would be cheaper and perform perfectly well.

7) a strong top quality psu is a good pick. the Corsair rm850w is fine,
Seasonic focus would be similar.
Look for a unit with a 7 to 10 year warranty.

8) On the motherboard, lga1700 MATX units are reasonable.
B660 or Z690 is fine. Overclocking K suffix processors is no longer a way to get something for nothing.
It is better for gaming to let the turbo boost mechanism do it's job on a few cores when conditions permit.
Z690 motherboards will usually have better vrm cooling.

11600k cannot overclock, on a B560 board. I agree that 12th gen is the way to go. What is your system budget, or could you please use PCPP to export a link to your proposed build? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/
