Advice wanted on what GPU to get.

Looking upgrading Graphics card in the coming days, after i managed to cook my MSI R9 390 card this week.

Current pc Specs is:

Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Mobo
6600K CPU
32GB Ram
650 EVGA G2 PSU

Budget is in region of £400-£500 and GPU needs be able handle gaming at 1440P at good settings.

At a guess i am looking at either top end 1070 or budget 1080 ??

One concern i have is if 650 PSU is strong enough to power a decent card once you take into account everything else in case ( CPU, Ram, 3 Hdd, 6 Case Fans ... )

You're good with either one of those cards. At 1440p the 1080 should handle max settings in any game. The 1070, nearly so.

If you can stretch your budget between £530 to £549 you could get the Gigabyte GTX 1080 Aurus Extreme for £539 or like I have the MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X which has just been reduced by £80 pounds to £549...on eBuyer! The MSI is super quiet and I mean super quiet, the fans do not come on until 60 Degrees and overclocks to 2K with ease...Only prblem is you have to be happy with Red and Black. The cheapest 1080 is the MSI 1080 Armour OC at £509 but the rever on Gamer NExus was not that great. PErsonally I would go for the 1080 over 1070 as it will hold up better and I can confirm that it is awesome at both 1440 and 4k. Power wise, you should be more than okay at 650..
