I just picked up a used amd r9 fury sapphire OC+ version for a deal and wondered based on my findings if a partial or full CU unlock was possible.

following a few good OC unlock guides I ran CUinfo v1.6 and found that the output reads:

Adapters detected: 1
Card #1 PCI ID: 1002:7300 - 174B:E331
DevID [7300] Rev [CB] (0), memory config: 0x00000000 (unused)
Fiji-class chip with 16 compute units per Shader Engine
SE1 hw/sw: 20010001 / 00000000 [..x............x]
SE2 hw/sw: 00030001 / 00000000 [..............xx]
SE3 hw/sw: 10010001 / 00000000 [...x...........x]
SE4 hw/sw: 00030001 / 00000000 [..............xx]
56 of 64 CUs are active. HW locks: 8 (R/O) / SW locks: 0 (R/W).
Sorry, all 8 disabled CUs can't be unlocked by BIOS replacement.

so since it dosent say I can proceed at my own risk I'm assuming that not even a partial unlock is possible.

am I correct?

does this mean my card has lazered HW disabled CU's? or does it mean that some of the cores are just bad and thus why its a fury not a fury x.

thanks for the help

So far the only thing i can say or add is you have a (Sapphire) R9 Nitro Fury 4GB OC+? With 2 BIOS support?
Because if so i have seen forums with people overclocking this card to at least 1100. I have a Fury OC Regular and not the + version and using the other bios support (Blue light on) i have overclocked to 1100 and haven't had an issue [Edit]*

I can overclock either bios. stock clocks are 1050 core and 500 mem. question is can I mod the bios to make this a full fury x via unlocking compute units. or atleast open up a few CU's to make it faster per clock.

I too have this same card, and am interested in unlocking this animal. I managed to get a 5% OC up to 1100, but ill take the extra computing any day.

it appears that only the early fury cards can be unlocked. the nitro version was produced later while the tri x was early and therefor some can be unlocked.
