Hi all,

I am after an upgrade to my CPU, when I first got my pc I was focused more on just power for playing games. A year later and I am now more into recording, rendering and live streaming pc games.

I am able to do all that just fine, but when live streaming at higher qualities - it really starts to show and can notice the sluggish feeling on more cpu intensive games.

Below is the spec of my computer hardware. The motherboard socket layer is LGA1155 (http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3912)

PSU:850W CORSAIR
GPU:1536MB MSI GTX580
Hard Drive:OCZ 120GB Vertex 3 2.5 SSD
CPU:Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3Ghz
Cooler:BeQuiet DarkRock
MoBo:GByte GA-Z68XP-UD3P
RAM:16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 Mhz
2x 24" 1920 x 1080 monitors 60hz

Price is not an issue.

Programs I use:

Fraps
Sony Vegas
Xsplit via TwitchTV

Thanks!

That's for socket layer LGA 2011

Or, is the current cpu I have the best for socket 1155?

If your intent is to stream 1080 then yes I'm suggesting an entire platform change.
The 6 core 3930k should be able to handle it while the 4 core i7's usually cannot unless the graphics are actually simpler (like minecraft).

By all means research this yourself and if you find otherwise then I'd be happy as I have a few friends with i7-2600k's that can't.
