My current specs are
amdfx 8350 oc to 4.52, evga gtx 980sc, GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 Motherboard, EVGA SuperNOVA 85 powersupply, and CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB ram.

Should i upgrade my cpu to i7 7700k? In order to get i7 7700k i also need new compatible motherboard and ram. so im looking to get ASRock Z270 motherboard, CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB ram, and CORSAIR Hydro Series H105 . Which in total is $707 in newegg. Is this upgrade worth it? cause i play mostly cpu intensive game such as total wars games and 4x games.

Or should i upgrade graphic card to gtx1080 instead? since gtx1080 in total is about $560, but i know that my cpu will bottleneck the gpu

And if i really do upgrade my fx 8350 to i7 7700k, how much performance impact will it have?

Solution
upgrading ur cpu is a good idea now. the gtx980 is still a decent 1080p card. drop the h105 unless u plan to do some crazy oc.
what s ur cooler for the 8350? if its compatible, u can use that itself.
i would suggest a sythe mugen 5 for a new cooler or a cryorig r1 for quiet operations. make sure u have enough clearance in ur case before getting that beefy cooler.

u can see a good 15+ fps difference in cpu intensive games over the 8350 ;)

thanks for your advise, i have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO right now but i heard i7 7700k runs hot and was recommended with liquid cooling. I might do some overclock and the case im using is Rosewill Computer Case - ATX Mid Tower - Black, Gaming

also how bad will the bottleneck be with fx8350 and gtx 1080?

thats not true. the 7700k runs cooler than the 8350 in comparison. the liquid coolers have poor value proosition. the cyrorig r1 costs less than the h105 and performs better. the only coolers that justify the premium pricing is the kraken x62, swiftech h220x2, ek predator.

the 212 evo is good for stock settings. if u plan to overclock the 7700k a bit the mugen 5 is a good choice.
