Question Advise on XFX R280x DD problem

Hello everyone,

Seeking for help to solve the issue below.
Im putting togheter a Low cost build with used parts and staying under 100euros.

Already have all the parts assembled:

asus m5a78l-mle/usb3
Fx 8350 water cooled with Corsair H80
16gb ram
SSD 240gb Toshiba TR200
XFX R280x DD 3gb
XFX TRX 650w

All good until the screen starts flickering and freezes, forcing a system Shutdown. Happens in game or randomly on the desktop.

What have I done so far:
Tested a different PSU
Tested different RAM
Tested different SSD
Tested the GPU in a similar system, also with a FX8350 but on a Sabertooth mobo, GPU worked well, no shutdown or freezes.

If i take out the GPU from the problematic system and run with onboard graphics, its ok. When I put the GPU, problem shows up again.

Im guessing that the asus m5a78l-mle/usb3 cant handle the GPU.

What do you think?

On the similar system was a Gigabyte G750, on the problematic one, first was a Corsair TX850 and to exclude the PSU I changed to a XFX XTR 650w.
Problem persists so we can rule out the PSUs.

I believe that I might have fixed it using MSI Afterburner to downclock below 1500mhz. Runing at 1490mhz and no issues so far. I will update if solved or not for future reference.
