Advised CPU to upgrade

I'm currently running an i3-4160 paired with an XFX RX 470 and 8GB RAM @1600mhz,
Any advice on which CPU to upgrade too?
Within the same socket (lga 1150) if that's worth it / possible

An i5 46xx or i7 47xx would both be appropriate.

I'd probably get one a bit higher clicked than a 4460 - maybe a 4590, 4670 or 4690.

Hmm, I mostly use my PC for gaming use. And I was wondering whether such a processor as the 4460 would be really worth it since my i3 has quite a strong single core performance. But I guess for games such as GTA V and Battlefield 1 there would be a noticeable difference if i were to get a quad core i5?

An i5 would be a noticeable improvement in very CPU heavy games, but I would not recommend you buy an i5 clocked lower than your i3.
