Veteran motion graphics artist, über-rookie pc builder, seriously thinking of jumping in the Mac-deserters bandwagon and while at it why not build my own custom workstation...

I'll mainly be using the most recent versions of After Effects and Cinema 4D for 2D/3D animation, no video editing, no gaming. Basically looking for the ultimate rendering speed/price ratio.

Here's my first attempt at parts picking, please feel free to point at any incompatibilities, obsolescences, plain absurdities or maybe apply a validation stamp.

Thanks for your input.

CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2GHz 6-Core

MB: Asus P9X79 PRO ATX LGA2011

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (8 x 4GB) DDR3-1866

Video Card: GeForce GTX 680 2GB

HD: 2x OCZ Agility 3 SATA III 120GB SSD (I already got those so I might use them unless really not recommended)

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011

Case: NZXT Switch 810 (White) ATX

PSU: Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V

Thanks popatim, seems like I did my homeworks right.

I was also wondering if the total noob I am could handle overclocking without risking to fry up his investment and would I get a significant speed gain?
