Alright, so I just picked the aero15x up, swapping in a new nvme and upgrading the WiFi card, picked up the 16gb model and all the reviews online were stating it came with a single stick of 16 so before arriving and doing the other work I picked up a matching 16gb stick off so it all be done at once.. I made sure all the specs and timings matched the one the present one.. but now after opening it up, I see it came with dual channel.. obviously I want the dual channel over single but can I get away with a 16 and an 8? I know in a desktop it can be real glitchy and I’m new to working on laptops, but is this possible?
Thanks in advance and I’m sorry if I’m an idiot, I know this questions been asked but can’t find anything about the aero15x..

PS I know this is out of section, but I’m upgrading to an intel 9260 but is there a better one out there? From my research this appears to be the best compatible but just curious if anyone has any better ideas I’d appreciate.

New title, tldr; basically thought laptop was going to have one 16gb stick of ram so I prebought a second, now opening it has x2 8gb sticks. With this mobo/setup can I get away with a 8 and a 16 or is it better to just run x2 8s until I can pickup a second 16?
All three sticks the same brand and timing btw, just x2 8gb x1 16gb

Update for those in the future;
Base model GIGABYTE AERO 15 Classic-WA-F74ADP
Removed x1 8gb stick added a 16gb, presently running 24 in dual. Will have to run some tests, but I have a feeling it’ll run the first 16 in dual and MAY or may not run the last 8 in single.. but for the next week or two it’ll work.
This is the 16gb ram stick I purchased;
Samsung 16GB DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666MHZ, 260 PIN SODIMM, 1.2V, CL 19 laptop ram memory module https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F6N8L3S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_K4n8CbRWMRMXW
So far running find in dynamic, cpu-z shows then from 1300-2888mhz, have a feeling I’ll be able to lock them in at 2888 without dynamic.
Please feel free to msg me with any questions.
