After I tried to update to 8.20 bios, and restarted the monitor would still stay in sleep mode. I know the monitor is working because I plugged in my laptop to test it.
I have an APU and at the time I was installing my GPU wasn't in there. I was using integrated graphics. I have tried using my GPU as well but did the same thing, I think my mobo is dead, my usb devices aren't turning on. I have also tried resetting CMOS.
My motherboard is a MSI 2AE0

Solution
Unfortunately, when a bios update goes wrong you only have two options.

1) RMA to the manufacturer.
2) Replace the bios chip on the board which may not be an easy task at all. Also, this will absolutely void your warranty and possibly ruin the board if done incorrectly.

Best thing you could possibly do is call your manufacturer for their recommendation.
So the chip is $18

If you'd like a decent video card upgrade i'd recommend:

This PSU:
$49.99 after $30 mail in rebate.

This Card:
$106.99 after $15 mail in rebate.

Cost upfront for bios chip, psu, video card
219.99

Cost after mail in rebates
174.98

If you want an improvement in gaming upgrading your cpu is not going to help anywhere near what upgrading the gpu will do. I wouldn't recommend the 5800k as it is an overclocking processor. Your system isnt going to handle overclocking well. Your motherboard most likely doesnt have the options to overclock or the proper power and heat dissipation. overclocking processors have a higher premium cost. i would recommend staying with the 5500 unless you can find the 5800k really cheap. even then it wont be much of an improvement or worth the cost.

By the way, just because the 5800k is an overclockable processor you can still run it at stock speeds without an overclock fine. You just wont get the benefit of what you are paying more for.

Will the processor give you more fps in GTA or the GPU because GTA V is a cpu intensive game and I would lag when I travel really fast and the cpu has to load the map. Sometimes it wouldn't generate floors either. I'm also on a $140 budget because my headset broke a month ago and need a new one.
