So, I have this old setup:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600
MB: MSI P31 Neo
RAM: 2x DDR2-667U 2GB
GPU: nVidia GeForce 8600GT

Today I got old my friends CPU, Intel E8500, and I tried to swap it with mine. But there goes the problem. After I insert it and I try to turn on, it stucks on BIOS logo. I disabled full screen logo and allowed full test on startup. When it starts, firstly it stuck on memory testing. It reads 3336MB and nothing more happens. While using E4600, it reads >4000MB. I tried removing one stick of RAM, then it reads 2048MB, then jumps to Testing USB devices.. and then stucks again. I tried reseting CMOS, but this do not help. Maybe someone could help me a little bit?

Solution
Check the BIOS version of your mobo and the version of your E8500.

There are two versions of the E8500. Version C0 requires BIOS version 1.2 or higher.
Version E0 requires BIOS version 1.4 or higher.
