I did a complete reformat and clean install of Windows Home Premium 64bit, followed by installing all updated drivers for the chipset, the motherboard, the GPU, keyboard, mouse & monitor. I installed all Windows updates and at the end installed Command Center (for thermal controls with the Alienware case and Master I/O).
After completing all of this, I am still experiencing VERY slow boot times (takes over 15mins to reach the desktop). Also, my Alienware Command Center is not working and is giving me an error, which I will post tomorrow as I'm not at my PC right now. but that could be due to many issues and I will try re-installing it after I uninstall the current app.
My main question is, what is the best way to find out what is causing the boot delay? The "starting Windows," screen pauses the entire way and it takes at least 10-15mins just for the Windows logo to form together. So, I'm wondering if there is a log or a way I can see any startup/boot errors or all of the boot-up events. Also, I have tried unplugging USB devices and that does not seem to help my times at all.
I should add that once the PC reaches the desktop and I'm up and running, there does not seem to be any lag and everything seems to work perfectly normal. So, I assume something is either installed incorrectly or something is incompatible and I just want to find the issue. Any advice would be appreciated as always.
Thanks guys!
