Hi
I have just cloned my 500GB hard drive to a 1TB hard drive, but the 1TB drive is now displaying that its capacity is only 500GB.
Did I clone incorrectly?
Thanks
Patrick

Solution
It probably only cloned the single partition, which means you (hopefully) just have to assign a letter to the other 500GB.

Start > Right click on My Computer < Manage < Disk Management < find the empty 500 GB space and right click on it < Assign drive letter and path

Thanks for the answer.
Is there a way so that it can combine with the 500GB partition so that it changes to the original 1TB?
If I have to make it a different drive, will I have trouble installing programs on the partition?

Look in Disk Management (access it as above)
If the two partitions are right next to each other, you can probably Extend the active partition into that other 500GB space.
If not...a separate 500GB partition with its own drive letter is NO problem installing application. You just have to tell it which drive letter to install to.
To do that, don't just click through the defaults in the install process. Which you should not do anyway.

You should be able to extend the 500GB into the full terabyte, but I'd advise not to. Assign the other 500 GB as a different letter and use it for games and programs. This will keep your OS nice and speedy, and all you have to do is change the installation path whenever you install something (i.e from C to D).
