I just upgraded my GPU in my Gaming PC from an old OEM Dell GPU (Temporary until I saved enough for a GPU) to an AMD Radeon R7 2GB. it will crash in the middle of a game with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or just straight out reboot with no warning. PLEASE HELP!

BTW I have tried reinstalling drivers, Reseating the card, and also defraging hdd and virus scan.

The black screen reboot has been happening after i got a new FX-8320e CPU.

Solution
-you would first confirm that your system memory timings are ok in BIOS by running memtest86
if they are ok, you would then apply your motherboard driver updates

streaming software and virus scanners depend on network drivers and tend to get the blame when you have a old network driver installed messing up thingsbe sure to update the motherboard network driver. nvidia GPUs that have shadowplay get messed up by old network drivers to the point where the GPU does not respond in its timeout period.

otherwise, you should copy a current minidump file from c:\windows\minidump directory to a cloud server like microsoft onedrive, share the file for public access and post a link.

your bugcheck just indicates that some driver tried to access a bogus memory address.
the various errors listed really don't help it just shows that PlaysService was trying to access a website but could not connect.
This can be normal in many conditions. for examlpe, no network access at the time the service tried to connect. Or windows firewall blocks access because you have not opened the port. Same goes for a router blocking access. Not to mention old broken network drivers as a potential cause.

Many times drivers do not handle error conditions correctly and cause bugchecks when they don't handle the errors.

You need to completely uninstall the old GPU drivers.

I assume your system is a dell
Dell systems prefer drivers from dell rather than drivers from other parties.
I've had many problems with radeon drivers and dell systems. The one I'm using now, catalyst won't open and no matter what guide I try, I can't seem to get rid of the current driver to re-install the new ones.

What windows are you using? I found that the windows 10 drivers work better than older os's.
Try re-install the rest of the mother board drivers with ones from dell, and you possibly need a bios update.

Solution

  • ■ Remove your old graphics driver.
    ■ Search for leftover files from your old graphics driver
    ■ Install the latest graphics driver from the manufacturer of your new graphics card (which in this case is AMD)

If you still have issues afterwards just post again.
