after installation of c drive d-drive disappear, wt to do to recover d-drive files

hi friends,, the system automatically shutting down and restrarting, i think due to the virus it might be happening, so i used to format c-drive and installed windows 7, but unfortunately d-drive has disappeared, but it seems at system adm.., one of my friend says that if we get it on desktop the d-drive will format and we would lost entire files in that drive.. so please give me suggestion how could i recover my files from d-drive.

So in "my computer" there is only one hard drive?
