Hello, so the other day i bought a nearly used GTX 1060 gaming X 6gb from msi off ebay. The card, came it looks like its in a very good condition but i have a huge problem. When I installed it and the new psu that i bought (seasonic m12ii 520w) on my prebuilt pc. When i try to play GTA V for example the game runs, it plays for 20 seconds to 1 minute, then freezes (with sounds on) and then crashes and not allowing me to close it. After some time it closes itself. The gpu temps at idle are at the max 55 degrees C and for the cpu 53 C max. Also i have to say that i have cleaned installed drivers and i have uninstalled geforce experience. I think it might be the mobo and its' pcie's because before that it used a gtx 750. What could be going on and how do i fix it? Best regards and thanks in advance!

I had a somwehat similar problem with my GTX 770 which was also second hand, my motherboard had a really old BIOS version that I had never updated and the card was previously installed on a much newer system to mine.

What model of motherboard is it and what BIOS version does it have installed? There should be a newer BIOS version for your specific motherboard available to download from their website.

Familiarize yourself with BIOS flashing beforehand if you do actually attempt this.

If your motherboard is from GIGABYTE please, dont go anywhere near their utilities or programs! In my experience they did a lot more harm, causing blue screens and messed up clocks and frequencies almost to the point of breaking my PC.

Hello, my mobo is the Medion MS-7874. The only bios update i could find is for windows 7 and 8.1. I run windows 10. Should I install this?

Im not sure but I wouldn't install it just yet. I dont know anything about those motherboards but the BIOS is entirely independent from the OS. Does it specifically say its not for windows 10, they might have just forgot to update the description for it.

Use Speccy and you should see which specific BIOS you have, for my motherboard the bios is from American Megatrends Inc, version F16 for the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H. Hopefully you'll see something similar

Sorry I couldnt be better help .
