well...
I just recently painting my pc case with spray paint, and after I finished it I put back all my pc parts where it used to, the problem is when I turn on my PC it won't boot up.
I try to reassemble the whole parts but the result is still the same.
I remove all parts and test it without put it into the case and it boot perfectly.
so... is there any possibility the spray paint that I use causing electricity problem?
thanks.

Possibly.

I would scratch through the paint wherever the motherboard, backplate, and standoffs will cover up. Also the screws that hold the power supply in. The chassis is the overall ground plane for the system (and to prevent you from getting shocked)

I paint my cases and I guess I'd clean up around the stand off holes of excess paint may be insulating from ground but most times is because I did not get something plugged in all the way or right like the 24 pin psu ?? or any of the psu leads or even the front panel header power switch maybe off the right pin out [that's easy to do ]

when this happnes is always one of these two

1. you didn't connected eatx 4 or 8 pin cpu cable and the 24 pin psu cable correctly

2. you didn't connected properly the power button and the reset button and the front leds, disconnect all 4 coables for that and only make work the power button, later fight with the other 3

i didn't saw the part of working outside the case, sorry

yes, you forgot to put the mainboard standoffs, that makes happen what you mention

when you removed the board look at the standoff holes of the board to see if any traces near them have any cracks in the pcb or its coating affecting the trace cranking down on the stand off screws will crack the board and expose any traces near them ???

see from this screenshot from this how close they are to the standoff holes and how the hole area could damage them ?

thanks for all of your quick responses.
I'm pretty sure that I plugin all the power cables and front panels cable correctly, and I double check it but still doesn't work.
then I check out all the standoff some of them is loose so I tighten it up, but still doesn't work and I just realize the cpu fan is not spinning at all, then I take out the board with cpu fan and ram still plugged in and test it outside the case and it work perfectly.
and about the standoff holes on my board they seems fine.
how about when I painting back side of my case I didn't takeoff the standoff, I just straightly painting it up. so... could it be the problem?

the standoof just moves half centimeter away the mainboard form the metallic body of the pc, it offers just a physical separation to avoid a short in the pins of the mainboard

the cpu fan, is it connected on the cpu_fan connector?

about the case, did you painted the buttons, the front of the case?

a picture of the mainboard inside the case could help, please take it where we can se how many screws over standoffs are being used to see if there is a cable you forgot to connect
