I just put together a new system that included an i5 4670k on a gigabyte Z87X-UD3H motherboard. Not sure the rest of the components are relevant. This was my first ever build and I'm pretty sure I screwed it up.
Frio cooler I ordered from Amazon was missing all mounting hardware, so I installed stock psu cooler as a temp fix until replacement parts could be shipped. Figured I would just wait a week or so to OC. I closed up my Haf X and booted up. Case fans all on. Everything looked good. Installed windows, loaded drivers, installed av, steam, d/l a few games, played Far Cry 3 for an hour...noticed an "AO" message on the motherboard. Shutdown windows, powered off. No problems. Open case to look around. Holy shit.
I plugged the psu cooler into the wrong spot on the mother board. My computer was running, playing games, for 2 hours with no psu fan.
Now my pc wont turn on.power on and off, nothing. Unplugged it, let it cool down, still nothing. Not an led lights up on the board. Like I said it turned off fine, it was running fine before my discovery. Shut down fine.
So is there anything to do other than pack up my motherboard and cpu for an attempt at exchange?
