After removing cooler my CPU was stuck to it. Is this normal?

When I unscrewed my Wraith Spire Cooler and lifted it from my Motherboard my CPU was attached to it. Is this normal? I'm afraid I might've broken something.

I'm a little surprised as this usually doesn't happen. Was the latch that secures the cpu all the way closed?

If it just came straight up...I think there's a good chance you didn't hurt anything.

Hopefully you didn't bend any pins or get thermal paste all over the place.

When you go to reinstall, I would make SURE the latch works and make SURE the CPU is snug down and latched before you install the cooler.

If all the CPU pins are still there then no harm done.
It happens to a lot of people but I don't know if you could call that normal.
To avoid that issue, next time remove the cooler while the CPU is still hot.
