hey,
I just upgraded from my geforce g210 to a radeon 4850. I also upgraded my psu to a Cooler Master B500.
When I first started up my screen was tearing like hell and it had input lag.
I thought that this was because the drivers so I installed amd catalyst (I think that was the driver).
I restarted my pc and still the same effect. I uninstalled al the nvidia drivers and software, rebooted my pc and still the same effect.
Also the most applications are giving a black screen.
Here are some videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy3O5xgSRU4 ==> This was when I opened explorer and moving it around. Than I opened notepad and instead of wite it gived my a black screen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAvRPHMYiwE ==> This was when I started upt my pc and logged in.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RX2znVZAG4 ==> This is how I run my cables.
I use this splitter: http://www.alternate.be/html/product/561032
Because my gpu can only output dvi and my monitor only vga.
Can you guys tell me how to fix this problem?
Thanks.

older card on new windows 8.1 thats were i would look first to see if 8.1 supports the card . remove /uninstall all the cards drivers back to were the windows defult drivers are what it wiil have to run on and see if its boots and runs well on that [ defult driver wount do any heavy stuff] . if it seems to be fine reinstall the cards drivers. and recheck.

What is CCC.
And most programs give me a black screen so I can't see the content.
Like GPUZ, device manager and many more.

Update: I followed this topic : http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2347620&page=2
I installed a custom driver (it is a patched, unofficially, not by amd).
It didn't work. I do ahve now catamyst control center, I can change stuff there. But still I have black windows, lag, and stottering and tearing in windows. Games will be a hell even if I didn't tried it (if windows can't work fine, games definitely not. I heard that it is a problem in the software drivers. Somehow, in safe mode (auto. in lower resolution), I have no lag after all. It works fine, but you know safe mode is not the OS that you can game and edit on (with the lowest resolution ever).

'' Somehow, in safe mode (auto. in lower resolution), I have no lag after all. It works fine, but you know safe mode is not the OS that you can game and edit on (with the lowest resolution ever). '' did you check to see if the resolution is too high or compatable with the monitor? i had a 50'' hdtv i used as a monitor and was running a nvidia 8800 card it if i ran it at too high of settings and resolution it was way hard on 1 card [but 2 8800 cards in sli did fine] .

I always can run 1080p on my geforce g210. A card that is 5 times better should also can tun it. Is it maybe because the splitter can't support 1080p but 720p or lower?

dont know dude, if it were me i would connect the card to the monitor direct like normal then i would remove all the cards drivers and added software[like msi afterburner type programs] to were the card only has windows defult drivers to run on and see how it will do on that [windows defult drivers wount do any heavy stuff] then of things seem ok for that go to device manager then display then your card right click that go to propetrys then drivers and let windows update drivers[ i assume your online for that] windows will only update the cards driver if there is one for you with out all the added on stuff. then recheck to see how that works out.

I don't have a display with DVI. Sooo. My tv has only 1 vga port, and 6 HDMI ports.
