I upgraded my 1 month old Alienware 15 to the latest Windows 10 update this weekend and started having all types of issues (not shutting down completely, restarting to black screen, taking 1 to 2 minutes to restart even when no black screen). In addition, every time I would update the drivers and restart I would lose connection to my 1TB HDD, which requires either a lucky restart or to take the back off and re-seat the HD, so in a last ditch effort to get past these issues I decided to use the recovery feature built into Alienware to go back to Windows 8 and start from scratch with Windows 10.
The issue is that apparently the recovery did not include network drivers and Windows 8 must have network access upon 1st login, I guess this is suppose to be a security feature. Long story short I have a 1 month old $2000 paper weight. Does anyone know how to bypass the online feature or another work around method to allow me to log in and to do driver updates from there.
