After my monitor comes back from sleep all the windows, such as Mozilla firefox and LoL, are smaller than maximized (they are like one fifth of the screen size) and in the upper left corner of the desktop screen. It doesn't matter if they were minimized to the taskbar before the monitor went to sleep.

This problem only started to happen after I bought an Acer 28" B286HK monitor at 3840x2160 resolution. Before that I had an HP S2031 20" monitor at 1600x900 resolution and it didnt do this upon waking up from sleep mode.

Computer setup:
Windows 7 64 bit home premium
Acer B286HK 28" monitor 4k resolution
Gigabyte R9 270X 4gb video card
16gb AMD Radeon memory 1866mhz
AMD FX-8320 CPU
Corsair CX500M power supply

I did a little research and someone said it wasn't because of the sleep mode, it was because of the "power cycle" it went through. Could that be it?

Solution
Theres your problem - that resolution is pretty much 4k. Not much support in the correct size for everything at the moment on the desktop
