after the system is assembled...what happens next?

I'm planning on assembling my first build on Sunday. Assuming I get everything put together properly, I would appreciate some guidance as to what comes next?

From what I understand, these are the things I should do first:

Flash the bios with the most current version from a USB drive.
Install Windows 10.
Install virus/malware protection.
Update drivers.
Benchmark the system? (Not exactly sure how to do that.)
Begin the arduous task of copying everything from my old system to the new.
Am I missing something important?

It would be great If someone can explain how I change the settings within Windows to automatically send downloads, pictures, videos, documents, music, etc. to the HDD instead of the SDD.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for letting me know. Based upon tutorials I've read elsewhere, I would have automatically updated BIOS without questioning whether or not it was necessary.

The article you linked me to seems to have been written a few years ago and was based upon Windows 7. Does what I read still apply for Windows 10?

You can still follow that. I didn't find things changed big when I upgraded from 7 to 10.

I've heard of AHCI before, but don't really understand what it is. I'll see if I can figure out how to turn it on.
